Why You Need the Sectigo Order Status Checker
Our Certificate Authority (CA) partner Sectigo has created an online tool that lets you conveniently keep up to date with the validation status of your SSL. If any of these scenarios match your experience, the Sectigo Order Status Checker will be helpful:
- You bought and activated an SSL Certificate, but haven’t received the validation email from CA
- You completed the Domain Control Validation (DCV) steps, but your SSLs.com Account panel Certificate Status is still showing as “Pending”
- You wish to complete DCV through the DNS method
- You know your EV SSL Certificate can take up to a week but you want to track its progress
Sectigo’s Order Status Checker will also speed up your SSL issuance. It helps with:
- Resending approval email.
- Switching DCV method.
- Resending Callback Email for Organization Validation (OV) SSL orders.
- Resending Agreement Email for Extended Validation (EV) SSL orders.
Here’s how to get the most from this tool:
- Log In
- Order Pending Domain Validation
- Order Pending Business Validation
Visit the Sectigo Order Status Checker page and open the Reseller option from the drop down menu:
You can find all these login details in your SSLs.com account >> Purchased certs list >> click Details next to the Certificate you want to check:
1. Sectigo Order Number: Certificate Authority’s ID, listed as CA Order #.
Keep in mind that if it’s the Multi-Domain certificate, and it’s been reissued at least once, you need to use the order number in the corresponding format, like “ХХХХХХХХХХrepl#Y”. Otherwise, if the intial order ID is used to find the reissued Multi-Domain certificate, the tool will throw you an error. The exact ID can be found in the most recent fulfillment email from the Certificate Authority. These emails are sent to the administrative contact email address for the SSL order.
2. Domain Name: Certificate name listed in the Domains field.
3. Email Address: Means the administrative contact email for the SSL order. It doesn’t actually work as expected at the time being, so “Sectigo Order Number + Domain Name” combination is preferable.
Once you’ve submitted these details, you’ll have the following options at your fingertips:
Order Pending Domain Validation
The Domain Control Validation (DCV) management options are available for all types of SSL Certificates i.e. Domain Validated, Organization Validated, and Extended Validated.
1. Email Method
The Resend Email option allows you to resend the DCV approval email to the email address that was selected during your SSL activation:
To change the approval email address and resend the email, click Change method:
Next, choose the new email address from the list given in the pop-up window and click on Change and Resend/Retry.
In a few minutes, the confirmation email containing a verification code will be sent to your selected email address. You’ll need to copy the code and click the link:
Voila! You’ll see a “Thank you” message to confirm that you’re all done.
Shortly after that, your Certificate files will be sent to your administrative contact email address.
2. Alternative Methods
If the email option doesn’t work for you, choose one of the alternative ways to complete your Domain Control Validation. Click Show Alternative DCV Information for the tab options:
The CSR Hashes tab gives you information for both HTTP (HTTPS) and DNS (CNAME) methods:
The HTTP CSR Hash tab gives you a way to upload a file with the CSR hashes on your hosting server. It shows you the name, content, and required file location. Use the following image guide to compose your validation file.
Note: this file is also available for download in your SSLs.com account.
The third CNAME CSR Hash tab displays your validation CNAME record values. This method is DNS-based, it assumes you’ll be adding a specific DNS record to your domain for the SSL Certificate.
Please note: The target value (2. on the above screenshot) contains an odd space separating the string into two lines. Thus, before saving the record in your DNS, ensure to remove that space making the value a complete one-line string.
Once you save the DNS record to the domain/upload file on your hosting server, tick the corresponding method in your Order Status Checker panel. Click Change and Resend/Retry to confirm that you’ve switched the DCV method.

3. Status ‘Completed’
Completion of Domain Control Validation will be reflected in your Order Status Checker by showing the corresponding status fields:
Your Certificate will be emailed to the admin contact email address you registered for the SSL order. When the order status is Active in your SSLs.com account, you can download SSL files from there too:
Order Pending Business Validation
After DCV completion, your OV or EV will require additional company detail checks by the Certificate Authority, and will have ‘Pending’ status in your Account panel.
In this case, the Order Status Checker has some very useful options for you to find out where you stand during the process:
1. Callback Status
This option shows whether your company phone number has been verified. If it says ‘Verifying the phone number’, it means that the verification is not yet complete.
2. Resend Callback Email
Here you can resend the Sectigo callback email if it was previously lost.
3. Agreement Email
Choose this to resend the Agreement email for your Extended Validation SSL to your specified email address. You can also change the email address you want it sent to.
Once your business verification details have been checked, your order will be forwarded to the Second Approval team at Sectigo for the final review. This stage may take up to 2 business days and is reflected in the Order Status Checker:
Once the Second Approval is completed, it will be shown in your order status:
Once you see the green ‘Completed’ status on all checklist items for your business validation, you can download the SSL files from your SSLs.com account directly or from the fulfillment email in which the CA sends the issued certificate.
